Saundra On The Issues
Gun control isn't about guns — it's about control. And the right to bear arms isn't about the arms — it's about the right.
The protection of individual liberty is absolutely the job of government, but it is not exclusively the job of government. It is first and foremost the job of "we the people" — individually as local communities and collectively as a nation. Well-enforced laws can deter crime, but even the best police and prosecutors in the world can not eliminate crime.
Therefore, the first defense against criminal threats to our persons and property is ourselves. That's why we have a right — a right granted by God and protected by the Constitution — to arm and protect ourselves.
I am proudly pro-life and believe life begins at conception.
Every human life is precious from its very beginning. Every individual, regardless of age, health, or condition of dependency, deserves the respect and protection of society. And expectant mothers deserve early and consistent care.
Women and children in the United States deserve better than the 56,145,920 abortions that have been performed in the United States since the Supreme Court rulings in Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton.
It’s essential for the government to respect each human life and not to use any of taxpayers dollars to subsidize practices like abortion.
As governor, I will oppose mass vaccination mandates, facilitate parental choice education and information consent, and fight for freedom of choice in healthcare decisions.
I do not believe the recent state-wide stay-home order issued by Governor Parson was constitutional.
Whist I believe the Governor’s intent is to safeguard the lives of Missourians, the order infringes upon our right to peacefully assemble as well as the free exercise of religion.
Where the life, liberty, or property of any person is impaired, the government must afford substantive and procedural due process. Substantive due process, or the propriety of seeking to impair those rights, is questionable under the current circumstances.
You and your family can raise your kids better than the government.
As a conservative, I will protect the rights of parents to choose the educational path that’s best for their child, whether it’s homeschooling, public schooling, or a private education.
Regardless of a family’s decision, I will work to ensure all students have equal opportunity within the education system.
